Job Description

We are partnering with a PERE who is looking to expand their mandate and hence also seeking a Senior Manager Legal and Compliance to take leadership responsibilities. This is a newly created role and will be an individual contributor reporting to the CEO directly.

You will be responsible for providing in-house legal advice to support key functions, projects and activities. You will be arranging, liaising and managing external lawyers who provide legal advice or representation to the Group in areas of special expertise or in litigation, and corporate secretarial services provider.

You will review and advise the management team on transactional documents, including but not limited to non-disclosure agreements, heads of terms, legal due diligence reports, and sales and purchase agreements. You will be preparing internal legal documents such as Board resolutions and shareholdersagreements. You will ensure compliance with applicable laws as well as implementing relevant process.

You will be spearheading and designing policies/programs that create appropriate practices in responsible real estate investment management, taking guidance from best practice examples and techniques. You will identify inefficiencies in processes or workflows and propose and introduce solutions that improve efficiency and productivity through structured synergies while safeguarding compliance. You will educate employees on updates to policies and prepare the necessary documents.

You will be preparing bi-annual internal audit and act as the engagement lead, coordinating and liaising between the appointed internal auditors and employees, moderating interviews, following up on audit queries, managing expectations of employees, being accountable for addressing review points, and resolving auditing findings by following through on agreed Management action plans arising from such findings etc.

Requirements

You possess a Bachelors Degree in Law, from a reputable university in a Common Law based jurisdiction and comes with strong legal experience in corporate and commercial matters. You have at least 8 years of relevant working experience in law firm and/or in-house/investment firm/real estate company etc.

You have a sense of urgency and have able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
